Fara is a senior lawyer in Islamic finance. She focuses on all types of Islamic financial products covering a wide range of asset types, investment classes and industrial sectors, of which several transactions have been named “Deal of the Year” by leading industry journals. She has also been involved in many Islamic finance products namely for institutions such as BNP Paribas, Qatar Islamic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Calyon, Ahli United Bank, WestLB AG, DVB Grouup Merchant Bank, Catlin, The Family Office, ING Bank NV, Credit Suisse International, Gulf International Bank (plc), Bank of London and the Middle East, Garantibank International Bank NV, Societe Generale, Kaupthing Singer & Friedland, ABC International Bank plc, Al Salam Bank, The Islamic Bank of Asia Limited, CIMB Bank Malaysia Berhad and Citigroup (Malaysia). She graduated from University of Tasmania (LLB) and Strathclyde Graduate Business School (MBA). She previously worked in Shearn Delamore (Malaysia), Zaid Ibrahim (Malaysia) and Norton Rose LLP (London). She was named as one of the leading lawyers in Banking and Finance by Islamic Finance News (2010). She is qualified as a solicitor in Malaysia (1999) and in England and Wales (2008).
